Heroes in the Fight is a recognition partnership program established by Eli Lilly and Company and implemented by Lilly USA.

The program celebrates dignity, courage, hope, and recovery in the ongoing treatment of persons with serious and persistent mental illness (SPMI) by recognizing “heroes” who provide care and support for persons with SPMI and their families.

Heroes in the Fight is being implemented in partnership with the National Alliance on Mental Illness and the Mental Health America advocacy organizations in participating mental health communities across the United States. Lilly USA is responsible for the program concept and costs, but will not be involved in the nomination process, selection of honorees or event planning.

Any individual involved with the mental health communities identified on this site is eligible to nominate a professional who helps consumers with SPMI and their families fight for better mental health and better lives. Recognition categories include psychiatrists, allied health professionals, community supporters, media professionals, and treatment teams.
